Becoming a solicitor in the UK requires a training contract. After achieving LPC (Legal Practice Course), this stage consists of a two-year placement by trainee solicitors. The Purpose of Training Contract:

A training contract can be similar to an internship opportunity in which students can invest their academic knowledge. This training lasts two years, in which future solicitors practice legal education in law firms. This training involves three to eight legal work areas, where each area is considered a seat. Trainee Solicitors:

The legal areas that trainee solicitors undertake are known as seats. Each seat is specialized in a legal field such as advocacy, child care and custody, financial, and business arrangements. These legal areas are also known as core modules, from which a potential solicitor can choose a single seat as his/ her elective module and get specialized training in that seat. Since contract training lasts for an extended period and involves different practical tasks and courses, trainee solicitors get paid for their ongoing training. After completing the training contract, potential solicitors should look for a job. They can try to apply for the law firms, in which they did their training contract.
